In the glass, the wine displays a beautiful cherry red color with blue hues and a dense, abundant tear. The garnacha grape can be easily recognized in the notes of red fruit on a menthol background, an aroma that intoxicates our senses. In the mouth we can enjoy almost a perfect transition from the initial acidic taste to a mellow and soft settling flavour. You can appreciate the sweet tannin’s contribution to the excellent maturity of the wine in the aftertaste. Altogether it is a fresh, structured varietal wine.
GRAPE AND WINE PRODUCTION:
Garnacha grapes from 40 years old vineyards that grow in plots of land at more than 600 meters above the sea level in La Rioja alta by the Najerilla river basin. It is made from grapes that ferment and later macerate in a steel tank with a regulated temperature for 25 days. After six months in the tank, the wine is filtered and bottled. This wine is again produced in the 2018 wine harvest thanks to the great quality of the garnacha grapes.
“We used to mix these grapes with tempranillo grapes to elaborate our crianzas but this year the grape was so utterly excellent that we decided not to. Instead we made a wine just with those grapes and that’s the result…”
