In June 2022 Largo Plazo Reserva has been awarded the bronze medal in the largest international wine competition Decanter World Wine Awards.
Largo Plazo also has received that month, a high rating fron American journalist James Suckling (Los Angeles), one of the most influential wine critics in the world. He was chief editor of the publication Wine Espectator for two decades.
After that, he founded his own website where Suckling and his team rate wines from all over the world.
According to Suckling and his team, «A wine that we rate with 90 points or more, is outstanding (A). It is a wine that we want to have a glass of and it is an outstanding purchase.«
TASTE:
This wine has a neat, bright, intense cherry red color.

GRAPES AND WINE PRODUCTION:
It is made with tempranillo grapes from La Rioja Alta, by the Najerilla river basin. The grapes are fermented for 17 days in stainless steel tanks at a regulated temperature. We circulate the grapes on a daily basis from the top to the bottom to extract the beneficial components from the skin of the red grapes. After 1080 days in american and french wooden barrels of 225 liters, the wine is bottled and let to repose for another year in cages.

UVA ED ELEBORAZIONE:
uve Tempranillo provenienti da vigneti del bacino del fiume Najerilla, a La Rioja Alta. Fermentazione per 17 giorni in vasche di acciaio inox a temperatura controllata con acqua a circuito chiuso. Durante questo periodo, vengono effettuati rimontaggi giornalieri per estrarre tutti i componenti positivi dalle bucce delle uve rosse. Dopo 1080 giorni in botti di rovere francese e americano da 225 litri, il vino viene imbottigliato e invecchiato per un altro anno in casse.
DEGUSTAZIONE:
Bigarreau rosso ciliegia, pulito e luminoso. Aroma intenso di frutta molto matura accompagnato da aromi tostati, mou e speziati. Complesso ed equilibrato, ha una struttura tannica di alta qualità ed è vellutato e ben equilibrato.

GRAPPE ET ELEBORATION :
Raisins Tempranillo provenant de vignobles du bassin de la rivière Najerilla, dans La Rioja Alta. Fermentation pendant 17 jours en cuves inox à température contrôlée avec de l’eau en circuit fermé. Pendant cette période, des remontages quotidiens sont effectués afin d’extraire tous les composants positifs de la peau des raisins rouges. Après 1080 jours en fûts de chêne français et américain de 225 litres, le vin est mis en bouteille et vieilli pendant un an supplémentaire dans des caisses.
DÉGUSTATION :
Bigarreau rouge cerise, net et brillant. Arôme intense de fruits très mûrs accompagné d’arômes grillés, de caramel et d’épices. Complexe et équilibré, il possède une structure tannique de grande qualité et est velouté et bien équilibré.

TRAUBEN UND ERZEUGUNG:
Tempranillo-Trauben aus Weinbergen im Flussgebiet von Najerilla in La Rioja Alta. 17-tägige Gärung in Edelstahltanks bei kontrollierter Temperatur unter Verwendung von Wasser in einem geschlossenen Kreislauf. Während dieser Zeit wird täglich umgepumpt, um alle positiven Bestandteile aus den Schalen der roten Trauben zu extrahieren. Nach 1080 Tagen in 225-Liter-Fässern aus französischer und amerikanischer Eiche wird der Wein in Flaschen abgefüllt und für ein weiteres Jahr in Kisten gelagert.
TASTING:
Bigarreau kirschrot, sauber und hell. Intensives Aroma von sehr reifen Früchten, begleitet von Röst-, Toffee- und Gewürzaromen. Er ist komplex und ausgewogen, hat eine hochwertige Tanninstruktur und ist samtig und gut ausgeglichen.

DRUIVEN EN ELEBORATIE:
Tempranillo-druiven afkomstig van wijngaarden in het stroomgebied van de Najerilla, in La Rioja Alta. Fermentatie gedurende 17 dagen in roestvrijstalen tanks bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur met water in een gesloten circuit. Gedurende deze tijd wordt er dagelijks overgepompt om alle positieve bestanddelen uit de schillen van de rode druiven te halen. Na 1080 dagen in Franse en Amerikaanse eiken vaten van 225 liter, wordt de wijn gebotteld en rijpt hij nog een jaar in kratten.
SMAAK:
Bigarreau kersenrood, hoog gewaad, schoon en helder. Intens aroma van zeer rijp fruit, vergezeld van geroosterde, toffee- en kruidige aroma’s. Complex en evenwichtig, met een hoge kwaliteit tannine structuur en fluweelzacht en goed in balans.
